God is so good. What a great week in religion for all classes.
1st and 2nd Grade ...
We had the opportunity to talk about Jacob and Esau. We took a look at how Jacob and Rebekah tricked Isaac for the blessing. This was a great opportunity to talk about lying and the dangers of it. We will continue this next week on Monday. But we also talked about God's grace to us and that God did forgive Jacob and that the promise of a Savior passed through the line of Jacob.
Memory work due Wednesday, Oct. 5th...
Serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13)
3rd and 4th Grade ...
This was a wonderful week with them. We spent time talking about The Tower of Babel. We talked about the theories (interpretations) of the Tower of Babel and what scripture says. It was good time to share that scripture tells us the story but man adds their own twist to things. We dwelled in scripture and looked at Romans 5:8 which says, But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His Holy name. (Psalm 103:1)
5th Grade ...
In 5th grade religion, we spent the week talking about the Law and Gospel. We talked about how in scripture there is disobedience, consequence, and deliverance. We also looked at Romans 6:23, which shares, "For the wages (what you deserve) of sin is death (eternal seperation from God), but the gift (grace) of God is eternal life (life forever in heaven) in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The Lord's Prayer
6th-8th Grade ...
We had the opportunity to talk through the Bible stories of the Flood and also The Tower of Babel. We dwelled in scripture to see that God did make a covenant to all of us after the flood. We also talked about being humble and looked at 1 Peter 5:1-7.
To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”[a]
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
