This Week in Religion (Sept. 19th - 23rd)

What an awesome week we had.  The students are growing in knowledge and also becoming more open to sharing their faith and asking questions about faith and salvation.  It is such an honor to be talking with them and hearing how God has blessed them and your families.

1st and 2nd grade ...

In religion this week, we spent a few days on how the rainbow represents God's covenant...His promise.  We also took time to create a rainbow and talked about what was saved on Noah's ark.  Finally, we briefly touched on the promise to Abram and Sarai.

Wanted to give you a heads up...many of the students didn't say their memory work this week!  I will be reminding them during the week about memory work, but please take the time to also work with them at home.

Memory Work.... Due Wednesday, Sept. 28th

The Lord is faithful to all His promises.  (Psalm 145:13)

3rd and 4th Grade...

This week we had the opportunity to talk about Cain and Abel.  We talked how God did protect Cain after he had murdered Abel and how one sin leads to another (example...Cain's jealousy and anger to God and Abel lead to the murder).  We also talked about God's saving grace...that Christ took the punishment for our sins.

Wanted to give you a heads up...many of the students didn't say their memory work this week!  I will be reminding them during the week about memory work, but please take the time to also work with them at home.

The Lord is faithful to all His promises.  (Psalm 145:13)

5th and 6th-8th Grade Religion

This week was a little different.  We spent time on a "contemporary issue".  We took time to discuss and dwell into scripture on the topic of Conflict Resolution.  We spent time reading Matthew 18:21-22; Luke 6:37; and 1 Corinthians 13:7.  We also looked at 2 Corinthians 5:15-21 and saw how Paul spoke to the believers at Corinth.

Memory Work... Due Wednesday, Sept. 28th

Old Testament books of the Bible ...   Hosea - Malachi

Hope everyone is having a blessed week.  Looking forward to the opportunity to share, listen, and dwell into scripture with the students again next week.
